PAUL ANDREU, THE PEKING OPERA
Director(s): Jean-Michel MEURICE – Writer(s): Jean-michel MEURICE Contact Print page
We follow the architect’s work from the first stages of lay-out and design to reality, from mere dream to the first stone. A true account of creative excitement in the face of technical and economic considerations. And under pressure of time.
For the past decadess, since building terminal 1 of Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport, Paul Andreu has designed buildings all over world: Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Nice, Jakarta, Shanghai, Osaka… Public spaces designed for the flow of passing crowds, a meeting place for people.
When talking about his work, Andreu speaks of curves and tracks, of footbridges and tunnels, of time, silence, light and …emptiness.
