Who is the one helping the other in the singular relationship between a young autistic person and a youngster in search of social recognition?
For three years, in cooperation with the association "Le Relais Ile-de-France", the filmmaker filmed a group of young people from working-class neighbourhoods while they trained to care for young adults with autistic disorders. The film chronicles the encounter of two worlds, that of young dropouts, too often stigmatized, and that of autistic persons whose daily life is largely ignored.
"There are simple stories that deeply touch us when they are given the right treatment, from a certain distance. The story of Boni, Sadio, Aymeric, Marine, William, Alexis and other protagonists of the documentary ‘Un pour Un’ (One For Onee, is one of them.
'One for one' talks about these young people "nobody wants". The autistic youngsters with the association ‘Relais Ile-de-France’ don’t have Asperger, they are not Rain Man. They are the autistic people we don’t like to see. Those who scream of joy or anger, those who strike, are scared of everything, seem totally withdrawn or mutilate themselves. "
