In fact, we do not know much about our Greek neighbours, and over the course of her encounters, Maja discovers a society that defines itself as sick. Sick of its education system that is not exactly egalitarian, as evidenced by young students. Sick of its military service and its archaic principles, as a conscientious objector tells us. Sick of its political system dominated by families who have kept power for themselves for decades.
And yet ... Greeks do not loose heart. Between a stroll on the Acropolis and a tasting of real feta, Maja discovers why life is not that bad when you live in the shadows of the gods of Mount Olympus.
