For over thirty years, Madeleine Louarn has been working with mentally handicapped actors from the ‘Atelier Catalyse’ based in Morlaix in the Bretagne (France). It’s been a unique theatrical experience…joyful and exceptionally fertile in artistic terms.
As they worked on the creation of "Ludwig, A King on the Moon", which had been selected for the 70th Avignon Festival in July 2016, we’ve been able to observe them during the preparations, from rehearsals to the first night.

Beyond the adventure of this theatrical creation, the film gives us the opportunity to meet these actors in their moments of intimacy and of human interchange, revealing their singular relationship with the world around them…
