Based on striking aerial images and many testimonies, the film explores the various facets of this complex territory in 24 hours. This unique canvas depicts the changes in the German landscape, at a time when the country – that was reunited only 25 years ago - attempts to reconcile its economic development with respect for nature.
"A Day in Germany" offers a fresh perspective, seen from above, of present-day Germany in a single “recomposed” day. It’s a country that undergoes profound changes as it is committed to a radical energy transition: it will abandon nuclear power by 2022 and develop ‘green’ energy . This challenge profoundly transformed its urban and rural landscapes that still carry the traces of a partition that, even after 25 years of reunification, has not completely been erased.
