There are two types of the “American dream” in the French-speaking Canadian province of Quebec: one of the immigrants trying their luck in Montreal, Quebec and Victoriaville; another one, more "political" and "linguistic", is that of the province itself that welcomes them with open arms. In the last ten years, 25,000 people have left France to cross the Atlantic and make a fresh start in the "belle province", which, with its six million French speakers, must "stand firm" - in the words of certain natives - against the 300 million English speakers of North America. Here, immigration is a valued asset in the fight to protect a way of life. The American dream French style takes us on a voyage of discovery to Quebec, following the singular experiences of five French immigrants following their dreams and facing reality of life in Quebec.
