In the Thai capital, Bangkok, people are dying who shouldn¹t be dying. The medicine to save their lives exist, but the developing countries do not represent a sufficiently lucrative market for the pharmaceutical giants. Of the $400 billion spent annually on medication around the world, $315 billion comes from Europe, the USA and Japan. South East Asia (including China) represents only 5% of the market. Thailand suffers more than most countries from the inequality of treatment. A lack of resources means that Paisan, his wife and three children are almost condemned to death. In Geneva, where Paisan has come to plead his people's cause, the laboratories have the last word: you pay or you die.
