Hospitals are under strain : there is a shortage of available beds, of doctors and, above all, a severe shortage of qualified nurses. Whenever there’s a crisis, nurses are in the front line.
Anne Perraut Soliveres is a ward sister on the night watch at Bligny Hospital near Paris. She offers an analysis of the current situation while inviting us to accompany her on her night shift. She takes us through the treatment centres, intensive care units and patients’ rooms of different departments to meet stressed nurses male and female - trying to do several jobs at the same time.
