LOCKWOOD QUARTET (The)

Director(s): Fabienne ISSARTEL   Contact Contact   Download Print page

The Lockwood Quartet symbolises the encounter between jazz and classical music; it demonstrates – if that were necessary – how different music genres complement each other. The two families also meet in real life: that of the Lockwood brothers – leaning towards jazz - and the more ‘classical side’ of Caroline Casadesus and Marie-Jeanne Serero. Carolinie and Didier are husband and wife…
The violin providing the story line, they interpret – not in any particular order – works by Bach, Purcell, Poulenc as well as such ‘evergreens’ as “Around Midnight” and come to the finale with “Hymne à l’Amour” by Edith Piaf. Their performance is a reflection of the understanding they share in real life.
