Although the world of percussion music is particularly open – ranging from the classical instrument to world music – France has so not experienced any of the big events that characterise the music. For the last three years, one of the foremost French percussionists, Frédéric Macarez, has been organising the “Days of Percussion” gathering over hundred artists from classic to contemporary style. The event embraces master classes and concerts and has attracted an audience of several thousand, making it THE annual meeting for percussion in France.
