Beethoven: the celebrated classical composer is also known for a peculiarity… he became deaf. In 2020, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth, the contemporary German composer, Helmut Oehring, made a film to pay homage to Beethoven.

Oehring himself has a connection to deafness as he grew up with deaf parents. For the film, he called on Kassandra Wedel, a deaf solo dancer and sign-singer. We’ll go backstage for the rehearsals and the shooting of his film, to experience a unique sound and visual experience, at the crossroads of the deaf and hearing worlds...

AVAILABLE FOR SCREENING: original French (commentary, sub-titles, signing)
