Few of us are aware of the history of Sri Lanka which is marked by a long and violent civil war between Tamils and Sinhalese.

This conflict forced many Tamils to flee, especially to France. Among them were many deaf and thirty of them live today in the Paris region. The stories of several families who have been living for a long time in France or that of deaf people who have only recently arrived, as well as a hearing Tamil who knows sign language, reveal their multi-faceted identities made up of a rich mix of different cultures and traditions.
This is a community which came to find refuge in France and who managed to make a home for themselves in the country.

AVAILABLE FOR SCREENING: original French (commentary, sub-titles, signing)
