In 2014, the Franco-German trade amounted to 169.4 billion Euros. The two countries are historical trade partners; the significant flow of import and export of goods generating economic interdependence.

The trade links between France and Germany tell of a long history of cooperation that does not originate in the fairly recent creation of the European Union. It takes us back in history when Europe was seen as a Mediterranean-Baltic axis.
Within this space, the enterprising spirit merchants and traders knew no bounds: they invented trade fairs, promissory notes, weaving or chemistry. The cities and ports would know extraordinary growth.
