She was the highest decorated British spy in Norway during WWII, but her story has never been told. Until now.
Nicknamed «Jeanne D`Arc of the North», Liv Grannes operated as a British agent during WWII. Northern Norway was occupied by 150,000 German soldiers to prevent an allied invasion, a plan considered by Churchill code-named Operation Jupiter.
The idea had been abandoned but it led to fewer troops in Normandy and made the Allied landing in France easier to carry out. After the Gestapo got on the trail of the SOE group, Liv had to escape to England…
Today, Liv’s son, Jørgen Hauge, brings to light his mother’s story, sharing photos, private letters and new and hitherto unknown documentation.
