Rarely has an invitation to travel offered a destination of such strong artistic legacy. India is home to some of the most beautiful monuments, architectural treasures built by emperors who dominated the world. Painting, dance, music, sculpture, literature… The reputation and refinement of their court was admired in their time well beyond their borders. The legacy they have left behind are the dream of many travellers.
In the north of the country, palaces, mosques and mausoleums tell the little known story of the great Mughals. Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan were prominent Muslim emperors who came from Central Asia and reigned in India between the 16th and 19th centuries. In the Ganges Plain, from Delhi to Lucknow, via Fatehpur Sikri and Agra, they would create one of the most beautiful civilizations, one of the most sparkling.
The film offers a journey in the footsteps of the great Mughal emperors. We set out in Delhi, the roots of the dynasty.
