When you need to get a message across involving people of different languages and cultures, an interpreter is required. But when the cultural gap is too great, one might need a mediator.

This is sometimes what is required to improve understanding between the deaf and the hearing, be it in matters of health of social and cultural issues. Being trained in the transmission of knowledge in one or the other of these domains - and thanks to his experience - a deaf mediator is best qualified to facilitate the communication between the parties and to restore understanding.
