Vallière, a small village in the Creuse region in central France, one of the country’s least populated rural areas. This is the last year Jean-Marc and Odette Touny run their butcher's and delicatessen shop. They intend to retire and the date of closure is looming ahead.
Their small business becomes the stage for a human comedy in 5 acts. Between two veal ‘paupiette’ and a couple of steaks, they will continue negotiating the best animals for meat with the local breeders, keep their customers happy, train Laetitia the new employee and also, they will need to find someone to take over from them at all cost. Alas, no buyer can be found, though…
All the while, in the back of the shop and out of sight, Laetitia makes rapid progress and could quite well see herself in the role of the future village butcher…
