Over the last ten years, Arpeggione has emerged as one of the most talented French string quartets. Isabelle, Agnès, Jean-Paul and Nicolas gave up careers as soloists or with orchestras to play together. Over the years, they got to know each other, overcame their differences to get down to work, then work some more. Their golden rule : unanimity in all decisions concerning the quartet. Their repertoire, concert dates and interpretations are decided democratically. Each rehearsal and concert is different, but so is the lifestyle of each member of the quartet. They come together around their music. It is this curious dichotomy, which is the subject of the film.
