More than fifty thousand companies go into liquidation each year in France. For most company owners, this failure is a tragic experience: employees lose their jobs and in times of economic uncertainty, they won’t always find another one.
It is hardest on small to medium-size companies and craftsmen. Heavy social charges, not enough turnover, toughening competition… they fight for years to get off the ground, often without success. Then comes bankruptcy, legal proceedings… a battle for some, calvary for others. The death of a company is still perceived as a personal failure.
